Galatasaray legend, Dževad Prekazi has insisted that Victor Osimhen wanted to go to England during the last summer transfer window.
Prekazi, who blamed Napoli for Osimhen’s failed move to the Premier League, said this while expressing his surprise at the striker’s decision to join the Turkish giants.
Osimhen had set his sights on moving to the Premier League or a return to the French Ligue 1 after making up his mind to leave Napoli.
However, Napoli placed a huge valuation on him, making it difficult for the likes of Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain to sign him.
“I couldn’t believe Osimhen, I couldn’t believe he would come to Galatasaray and that he did,” Prekazi told TRT Spor via Cumhuriyet.
“He wanted to go to England, the problem was in Napoli because the transfer was a lot of money.”
He added, “I don’t know how he came to Galatasaray. It is great, he will make a great contribution, it is obvious. Nobody can keep him.”
