Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has lamented Victor Osimhen’s absence for the team’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
Osimhen was omitted from the double-header due to a muscle injury.
Eguavoen will now have to count on the likes of Victor Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho to deliver the goods against Libya.
The gaffer believed the other strikers will make up for his absence.
Speaking to NFF TV, Eguavoen said: “It’s a collective effort, it’s a team sport not individual sport. We are in touch, he’s a huge miss, we all know how important and impactful Osimhen can be, but we have other players who can step into his shoes.
“He’s not here physically but I am one hundred percent sure he’s here spiritually with us.”
