Former Chelsea assistant manager, Jody Morris, has criticised midfielder Conor Gallagher for being sent off in the Blues’ Premier League 3-2 win over Brighton on Sunday.
Morris was critical of Gallagher’s poor decision-making and silly challenge that nearly cost Chelsea all three points against Brighton Stamford Bridge.
Gallagher received a red card for two yellow cards in the closing stages of the first half, leaving Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggling.
“Conor Gallagher has picked up his second yellow. It is a silly challenge from him,” Morris told Sky Sports.
“You always want to keep his enthusiasm and aggressiveness on the pitch, but the fact that he is already on a yellow card.
“Conor has gone to ground when he didn’t really have to. For me, it is a second yellow. Poor decision from Conor to make that tackle.”
