The Public Relations Officer of Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative, Human Rights Protection Congress, HRPC, Nigeria, Harrison Itulua today urged President Bola Tinubu’s led Federal Government of Nigeria to invest money on insecurity and acquire sophisticated arms and ammunition for the Nigerian military to tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and others in the country.

Itulua made the call at the just concluded 2nd annual dialogue organised by the group in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

He insisted that the country has the resources to acquire arms and ammunition for the military to address insecurity squarely.

“Insecurity is a very big problem. It’s a general problem in the country. The President should invest money in insecurity. Let him pump money in that area. Buy arms and ammunition that can match that of the terrorists that are coming to Nigeria from other Countries.”

While noting that it is not only the terrorists and bandits who are causing the insecurity in the nation, Itulua stressed that “Nigerian terrorists are also coming from other places.”

He also claimed that insecurity is political otherwise it would have been dealt with long ago.

According to him, “that’s why we are backwards and we will continue to be backward until insecurity is reduced to the barest minimum.”

Itulua tackled President Tinubu over his independence message wherein he purportedly said issues of insecurity had been addressed. In his words, Tinubu’s speech on insecurity is unacceptable. He said insecurity is on the increase nationwide.
