Independence Day: Remain resilient in face of economic, security challenges – Wike to FCT residents

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on residents of the FCT to remain resilient in the face of current economic, social and security challenges.

He said the FCT administration remains committed to the infrastructural development of the nation’s capital, enhancing security, providing quality services and improving the overall quality of life for everyone.

Wike acknowledged that this year’s Independence Day has come at a time when the nation is faced with significant challenges — economic, security, and social.

He called on residents to demonstrate resilience and lead the charge in building the country.

“I urge every resident to reflect on the spirit of our national day and take personal and collective responsibility for the development of our communities,” Wike said in his Independence Day message to FCT residents.

“Let us stand together to, support security efforts, promote peace, protect our environment and be our brother’s keeper.

“We must commit to fostering national unity and progress. The FCT is at the forefront of these efforts, and we will continue to ensure that Abuja remains a symbol of hope, a center for opportunities, and a place of peace for all Nigerians.

“We must also not forget to reflect on the sacrifices of our gallant men and women in uniform who continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of residents.

“On this note, I wish to assure all residents of the FCT that the Federal Capital Territory Administration remains committed to the infrastructural development of the Territory, enhancing security, providing quality services, and improving the overall quality of life for everyone in the nation’s capital.

“We remain committed to creating an inclusive society where opportunities abound for all, and no one is left behind,” the minister added.
