EPL: There’s too many bad eggs in Man Utd squad – Alan Shearer warns

Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, has warned there are ‘too many bad eggs’ in the current Manchester United squad.

Shearer issued the warning following Man United’s dismal showing against Newcastle United in Saturday’s Premier League tie.

Newcastle sealed a 1-0 win over the Red Devils at St. James’ Park, thanks to Anthony Gordon’s second-half goal.

However, Shearer was not please with the performances of Erik ten Hag’s side, insisting their forwards Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho ‘didn’t look interested’ in helping their defenders out.

“They [Newcastle United] absolutely battered Man United in wide areas, Trippier and Livramento were sensational against Wan-Bissaka and Dalot but in their defence they got absolutely no help whatsoever from Garnacho and Rashford,” Shearer told Match of the Day.

“Rashford is nowhere near him [Livramento], it is too easy; there is not enough effort from him at all there.

“For me, there are too many bad eggs in that Man United team. Too many bad attitudes,” he added

“It is alright when things are going well for you; you can get your feet on the ball, you can play, pick your passes when things are nice and rosy.

“But when it is not going for you, you are a bit tired, you have been away at a European game and you have got to roll your sleeves up, there are not enough characters in that team.”
