Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he expects Vinicius Jr to win this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
The ceremony to announce the winner is exactly one month away – October 28th.
Vinicius Jr is the standout favourite to claim the 2024 award and has reportedly been informed about his future win already.
“I think so [Vinicius Junior will win the 2024 Ballon d’Or], thanks to the effectiveness he had in the Champions League, scoring in the semi-final and the final,” Ancelotti has told the media.
“I think he will win it. If he doesn’t, we’ll move on.”
Vinicius Jr has been shortlisted for the 2024 Ballon d’Or along other Real Madrid team-mates Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger and Federico Valverde.
The Brazilian finished last season with 24 goals and 10 assists in 39 appearances for Real Madrid, also winning La Liga and the Champions League.
