Manchester City have issued a statement on the knee injury suffered by Rodri.
The Premier League champions on Wednesday, confirmed that it is “a ligament injury to his right knee.”
Rodri had to be substituted during the first half of their 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
The Spain midfielder went down without appearing to be touched while sprinting to meet a corner.
Reports emerged on Monday that Rodri had torn the ACL in his right knee.
City have confirmed this news on Tuesday, with the 28-year-old now likely to miss the majority of the season.
“The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester.
“Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis. Everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery,” the statement read in part.
