Anthony Joshua has said that the unexpected proudest moment of his boxing career came after he acted on advice from football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Joshua is preparing to face Daniel Dubois in an all-Brit bout at Wembley, with the IBF World Heavyweight title on the line.
Portugal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus legend, Ronaldo has shown over the years to be a larger-than-life figure.
At 39, Ronaldo has refused to slow down and plies his trade in the money-spinning Saudi Pro League.
This was where he crossed paths with Anthony Joshua who fought former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a showdown in Riyadh, which he won by knockout back in March.
After the fight, the Nigerian boxer shared a moment with the Portuguese football icon, who was in attendance, and they spoke with each other.
In a recent interview with TNT Sports, Joshua was asked about the details of the conversation between him and the football king.
Joshua revealed that Ronaldo talked to him about his feeding and training regimen, and pointed out that it worked.
He also pointed out that he felt that getting seven hours’ sleep when he followed the advice was his ‘proudest moment to date.’
“The regimen he keeps in order to keep himself healthy. And to be fair, look at that, [I got] seven hours’ sleep after following some of his recommendations,” he stated.
