Champions League: ‘He was in coma’ – Cunningham slams AC Milan star after defeat to Liverpool

Former Wimbledon Defender, Kenny Cunningham has hit out at AC Milan star Rafa Leao following his poor display against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Leao featured in Milan’s Champions League 3-1 defeat against the Reds on Tuesday.

His team opened the scoring at the San Siro in the third minute, thanks to Christian Pulisic’s goal.

However, the Serie A were not able to sustain their lead as Liverpool bounced back to eventually clinch a win.

Ibrahim Konate, Virgil Van Dijk and Dominik Szoboslai all scored for Arne Slot’s side.

Speaking to Premsport TV, Cunningham said Leoa was in a ‘coma’ for 40 minutes during the encounter.

According to him, the Portuguese international is not an elite player.

“This lad is talked up like ‘Oh, elite player.’ There is a reason he’s at AC Milan and not one of the very best clubs in Europe because he turns up one game in every three,” Cunningham said.

“It’s like Leoa was in an induced Coma for the first 40 minutes. This lad isn’t an elite player.”
