The Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged the Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, to appoint chieftains and members of other political parties into his cabinet to form an all-inclusive government that will ensure even development and distribution of democratic dividends across the state.
IPAC was in Kano for a project monitoring tour to assess Governor Yusuf’s performance in six months.
The group, comprising of leaders of all political parties in Nigeria, inspected 11 projects ranging from education, health, agriculture, physical infrastructure and human development.
Addressing journalists at Tahir Guest Palace after their tour on Saturday night, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, stressed the need for Yusuf to extend the hands of governance to members of other political parties, insisting that such gesture will heal old wounds and ensure further development in the state.
IPAC also described the security situation in Kano as impressive while appreciating government workers for what they have done so far in driving the wheels of socio-economic development in the state.
According to him, the situation in Kano in terms of the dispensation of democratic dividends was very encouraging, promising to make the comprehensive report of their findings available to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly for appraisal and commendation.
According to Nwosu, who spoke on behalf of IPAC National Chairman, Engr. Sani Yabagi, the idea behind their project tours across states in Nigeria was to encourage good governance.
