The Zamfara State government has dissociated itself from the reports making the rounds that it had appointed a suspected gunner, Bashir Hadejia as a Governor’s aide.
DAILY POST recalls that a letter, dated October 27, 2023, purportedly signed by Mal Abubakar M. Nakwada, the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, alleging that the suspected cross-border criminal was appointed by the state government went viral on Monday.
The letter purported that Hadejia was appointed as the Technical Adviser, Mining, under the office of the state.
Hadejia was arrested on Monday last week over alleged treason and subversion against the state.
Reacting to the purported appointment, the Zamfara State government in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media, office of the secretary to the state government, Suleman Ahmad Tudu said the letter in circulation is fake.
“For the records, Governor Lawal has not made any such appointment and Bashir Hadejia has not been appointed to any position in the present government.
“This doctored document letter is the handwork of mischief makers as part of their broader attempts to mislead the public and smear the good image of Governor Lawal’s administration,” said the statement.
