Ogun cult clash: Police arrest suspected killer, recover gun, axes

The Ogun State Police Command said it has arrested 34-year-old Adekunle Adebajo in connection with the killing of a victim who was shot and macheted to death on Ijagun Road in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State.

DAILY POST reported that the deceased, simply identified as “Mosquito,” was found in the pool of his blood with his left hand severed and taken away by his killers.

Spokesperson of the police command, Omolola Odutola, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Saturday, said Adebajo, popularly called “Kunle Polly,” was suspected to be one of the killers.

She noted that the suspect was arrested at 12:03 am at his hideout in Isiwo, Ijebu, following information provided by the public.

“Upon receiving this information, a team of detectives promptly mobilised and took action by moving to the location, where one suspect, Adekunle Adebajo, aka Kunle Polly, 34, was apprehended.

“During interrogation, Kunle Polly admitted to being a member of the Eiye Confraternity.”

Odutola noted that items discovered at his residence include a Beretta pistol with six live rounds of ammunition, two UTC axes, and charms.

According to her, the suspect is presently undergoing preliminary investigation in Igbeba Division, Ijebu Ode.
