Former English midfielder Leon Osman has named Arsenal’s new £40 million-rated star Riccardo Calafiori as the player to help the Gunners win the English Premier League title this season.
The defender joined Arsenal in July, signing a five-year contract valid until 2029 after arriving from Bologna.
Arsenal have found themselves in second place for two consecutive seasons, finishing behind Manchester City.
But Osman believes that with the arrival of Calafiori, Mikel Arteta can make a difference this season.
The pundit said (via TBR Football): “Most exciting signing so far? Riccardo Calafiori—not one to get you out of your seat, but could bring a title.”
Calafiori, 22, contributed to Bologna’s qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 1964.
Manchester City won the league last season with two points better than Arsenal.
