Balami writes Nigerian youths as aviation expert, activist shuns 40th birthday celebration

Famous Nigerian aviation expert and an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Comrade Isaac Balami has written a powerful letter to Nigerian youths, urging them to shelve the planned birthday party scheduled for him.

Balami, a youth leader and former Obi/Datti Deputy Campaign Manager recently dumped the Labour Party, LP, for the APC.

Posting on his X handle as part of his message to the youths and other close allies who have disclosed their plans to organize a huge birthday party for him, Balami, a former President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers said, with the hunger and suffering in Nigeria, it was better to plan for the future of the country’s Youth in his own small way than to plan for his birthday.

He went further to state that he had decided to reflect deeply and then team up with those who were planning to throw him a birthday bash and that they will use the moment to advance some 40 precious lives in 4 different aviation fields making them 160 altogether.

He said he will team up with his friends to empower 160 qualified Nigerians in different aviation trainings through the Isaac Balami Foundation(IBF) this year.

“Dear Friends,

“Happy International Youth Day!

“It is that time of the year for me again. The time I reflect on my life and the magnanimous grace I enjoy from God Almighty. And it is even more amazing because I am turning 40 this month. I have been overwhelmed with calls and messages from colleagues, family and friends on how they plan to make this birthday celebration grand because 40 is a good number to celebrate. They are definitely right and I honestly do not take such love for granted. To the glory of God and the gift of people, He has blessed me with, my 40th birthday truly calls for celebrations.

“However, I won’t be having any big celebration this year.

“I have instead decided to reflect deeply and then team up with those who are planning to throw me a birthday bash. We will use the moment to advance some 40 precious lives in 4 different aviation fields making them 160 altogether.

“It is my greatest privilege to announce that my friends and I will be empowering 160 qualified Nigerians in different aviation trainings through the Isaac Balami Foundation(IBF) this year.

“It gives me great fulfillment that the Isaac Balami Foundation that I started as a young aviation student in Zaria has been invariably giving succor to humanity for the past 20 years. To the glory of God, we have impacted the lives of hundreds of children across the nation with quality education and also empowered hundreds of homes, especially widows, through diverse programs. That is different from the orphanage in Abuja, where we are building young and beautiful leaders of tomorrow, and the school in Borno, where each pupil is on full scholarship.

“I know the times are hard in Nigeria right now and as a young leader, this is the main reason I am asking those planning something big for my big day to work closely with me in doing something even more exemplary for our dear Nigeria. I believe that this noble idea will create visible and appreciable impact in the country. If God has given me this grace, it is best to also extend the hand to fellow Nigerians whom I know deserve more.

“My life is woven around aviation. I am grateful to those whom God has used to impact me in this incredible journey. My instructors, colleagues and bosses. And to my family, friends and team. They all inspired this.

“Please check the flyers for more details. More announcements about the program will be made soon.

“You can also share with your friends and those you feel are qualified to benefit from this opportunity.

“God bless Nigeria.”
