The Edo State Police Command said it arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly raped a six-year-old.
DAILY POST reports that the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said the matter was transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department.
DAILY POST learnt that the arrest of the suspect, himself a minor, was sequel to the complaints made to the police by the victim’s father.
The incident happened in Sobe, a community in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The suspect was alleged to have lured the victim into the house and had carnal knowledge of her.
The father of the victim, who in the first place reported the incident to the police, later went to the police station to withdraw the matter.
He hinged his action on the ground that he had agreed with the suspect’s father to settle the matter at home amicably.
