Self-confessed cultist narrates involvement in crime

A confessed cultist, identified as Alabi Ridwan, has opened up on his involvement in the Eiye Secret Cult Confraternity.

Alabi, who was arrested alongside seven other cultists and paraded by the Kwara State Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, on Friday in Ilorin, confirmed that he has killed one person since joining the group in 2005.

Answering questions from journalists at the state police headquarters in Ilorin, where he and other criminal suspects were paraded, Alabi who said he was forced to join the confraternity, advised others to steer clear of cultism.

“It is true that I am a cultist as alleged by the police, my parents are from Ilorin, I advise that people should stay away from cultism because it destroys lives.

“If I am lucky to escape from this, I will travel out of the country but I regret my involvement in cultism,”

DAILY POST reports that about 24 criminals including eight cultists and kidnappers were paraded on Friday for their alleged involvement in various heinous crimes in the state.
