Four suspects arrested over Ogun cult killings

The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday, said four persons have been arrested over the recent killings in Kuto area of the state.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, in a telephone conversation, said they were arrested in relation to the killing of a barber at Isale Oja Kuto by suspected cultists on Wednesday .

DAILY POST reports that few days after the barber was killed, a POS operator, Fatai Kehinde, was chased from his shop located inside the market down to under the Kuto bridge where he was butchered and killed.

The deceased, popularly known as Faity, is a son of the Baale of Kuto Community.

According to a source, the victims are most likely to have been killed by the same rival cult group as the assailants of Faithy on Friday used the same vehicle that the barber’s killers had used.

Alamutu, however, reaffirmed that the state is not a haven for criminals, and assured that those responsible for the killings would be found and brought to justice.

He said: “We have successfully arrested four people in connection with the killing of the barber by some suspected cultists a few days ago.

“We are also on the trail of others, and this is just to say that there is no hiding place for criminals in the state. We will apprehend everyone involved in the killings and make them answer for their misdeeds.”
