Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has commiserated with the family of the Director of Finance to the Governor’s office, Taiwo Oyekanmi, who was murdered by a daredevil robbery gang on Wednesday, in Abeokuta, the capital of the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Lekan Adeniran.
DAILY POST reports that the deceased accountant was killed while moving a huge amount of money with a bullion van from two commercial banks to the governor’s office.
Governor Abiodun described the incident as a rude shock to him, as he called for prayers for the immediate family of the deceased.
“It is indeed a colossal loss for our administration to have lost such a dedicated, truthful, and diligent official, his assailants have murdered sleep and will be flushed out immediately from wherever they might be hiding,” he said.
The governor also vowed to get to the root of the matter, saying, “I have directed all security agencies in the State to smoke the criminals out instantly and make them face the full wrath of the law.”
