Nkwoachara Ward Development Union, Umuawa Alaocha Ohuhu, in Umuahia North LGA, Abia State, has asked the Clerk of the National Assembly to provide the community with details of funds allocated to the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal constituency, Obi Aguocha from June 2023 to August 2024.
The community, which presented their letter through a lawyer, Chijioke Udeogu and Co Solicitors, Arbitrators, and Legal Consultants, also demanded details of constituency projects released to Abia Central Senatorial District which they said, directly affects them as constituents.
According to the petitioners, the House of Representatives member, Obi has not been representing them well so far.
The community also demanded details of funds allocated to the Abia Central senatorial district presently being occupied by Senator Austin Akobundu from June 2023 to August 2024 and details of all constituency projects executed and ongoing and the officially approved sums for each of those projects, from June 2023 to August 2024.
Apart from these, the Nkwoachara people also demanded to know the details of all palliatives and other forms of Social Welfare packages approved and released by the National Assembly for the Abia Central Senatorial district for the period under review.
But reacting to the development, the Chairman of Labour Party (LP) in Nkwoachara Ward in Umuahia North, Nnaemeka Ekechukwu said that his party has no record of any letter against Obi Agoucha.
He said that Agoucha has been representing his people well and sustaining unity.
Also reacting to the issue, the media office of Obi Agoucha in a statement, confirmed that the Reps member has read about the reports on social media.
According to the media office, the Reps member has been transparent in representing his people and has nothing to hide, including his determination to process the release of Nnamdi Kanu from detention.
Meanwhile, media consultant of Senator Austin Akobundu (PDP Abia Central) could not be reached for comments concerning the letters written about the Senator.
