NSCDC personnel allegedly open fire on students in Abuja

Three personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been reportedly arrested for allegedly shooting two students of Senior Secondary School, Life Camp, Abuja.

Daily Trust reports that the personnel were said to have been drafted to the school for the ongoing SSCE external examination.

It is unclear what led to the shooting.

However, the affected students were said to be receiving treatment at the Gwarinpa Hospital, Abuja.

Following the shooting, some students reportedly vandalised three patrol vehicles belonging to the NSCDC in protest.

The incident has been confirmed by Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokeswoman.

Adeh said police had restored peace to the affected area.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, had ordered investigation into the incident.
