Protesters reportedly invade Wike’s residence in Port Harcourt

Angry youths protesting against bad governance and hunger across the country on Tuesday reportedly stormed the Port Harcourt residence of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

It was gathered that while the protests have subsided in Abuja, it continued to gain momentum in Wike’s home state.

The protesters gathered outside the former Rivers State Governor’s mansion in Port Harcourt as the demonstration entered its sixth day.

In reaction to the development, the Nigeria Police Force informed it has deployed more officers to the area to maintain order and ensure everyone’s safety.

The demonstrators, on the first day of the protests, also stormed the Government House, publicly embarrassing Governor Sim Fubara, who had attempted to offer them money for bottled water.
