Hunger protest would’ve culminated in greater unrest – Olumba Obu

The spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, has revealed that the nationwide hunger protest was intended to escalate into more serious civil unrest.

In an address to his adherents, which was relayed over a cable TV network, the spiritual leader cautioned Nigerians to exercise restraint and patience.

He urged them to be law-abiding and to respect established authorities, as this is the will of God. He emphasized that resorting to violence and destruction would not lead to meaningful change.

“The agitation by Nigerians through the nationwide hunger protest could have resulted in severe civil unrest in the country.

“But the Almighty Father has intervened by taking full control. I hereby call on Nigerians to live in peace with one another, to be law-abiding, and to respect and honor all constituted authorities. In accordance with Romans 13:1-2, every soul must be subject to higher powers, for there is no power except that of God.”
