Manchester United will ‘accelerate’ their search for a new centre-back and striker, after Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund picked up injuries in pre-season games.
The injuries to Yoro and Hojlund has left Erik ten Hag’s squad looking light going into the opening weeks of the season.
Yoro fractured a metatarsal in his left foot and will be out for three months.
Hojlund is expected to miss the next six weeks with a hamstring strain.
This setback leaves Ten Hag desperately searching for reinforcements ahead of the new season, The Telegraph reports.
The Red Devils have been looking to bolster their centre-back options over the summer, targeting Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, but the latest injury crisis might increase the urgency of a new signing.
