Four women reportedly died on Wednesday in a ghastly road accident in Dutsin-Hari, a community along the Jalam-Lanzai Road in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
DAILY POST learnt that the vehicle conveying the women, who were on their way to Sade Market, lost control due to overspeeding before somersaulting.
The victims were identified as Ai’shatu Salihu, 25; Furera Haladu, 25; Zuwaira Dandija, 19; and Lahala Muhammed, 41.
Several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident to reporters on Wednesday.
He stated that the vehicle had over 30 passengers on board at the time of the crash.
“Many people were injured. When the police took them to the hospital, the doctor confirmed four people dead,” he said.
