Nigeria’s badminton star Anuoluwapo Opeyori lost his first match 2-0 to Switzerland’s Tobias Kuenzi on Tuesday in the men’s singles.
Opeyori lost the keenly contested encounter 2-0.
The 27-year-old fought hard in the first set but lost 22-20. Kuenzi won the second set comfortably, 21-14.
Opeyori will be back on the court on Wednesday to face China’s SF Li.
He must avoid defeat in the game to proceed to the next round.
