Kogi: PDP stakeholders commend peaceful ward congresses

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders in Kogi State have applauded the party and its members over the conduct of a successful and peaceful Ward Adhoc Congress in Lokoja.

The stakeholders said the just-concluded congress was one of the most democratic exercises conducted in the state in recent years.

They noted that the Congress showcased PDP’s commitment to internal democracy, unity and readiness to face challenges.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim Dansofo, the party elders’ forum commended the leadership for creating a conducive atmosphere, ensuring a level playing field, and fostering a sense of belonging among party members.

They noted this led to a seamless and transparent process, where delegates freely exercised their franchise without coercion or manipulation.

The stakeholders urged those aggrieved or concerned to await the appeals panel, which will be set up immediately, to address their issues.

They also warned against unguided actions or press statements capable of jeopardizing party unity and potentially creating unnecessary tensions.
