Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has said the new season will be the “survival of the fittest”.
The Red Devils missed out on a top-four place last campaign, but beat Manchester City to win the FA Cup.
Ten Hag has already added Lenny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to that team.
Both players are set to feature against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“We know that because [when] we have injuries, we are vulnerable, and we have to avoid this. First, by getting less injuries and picking up less injuries. And second, our squad has to be that good in depth.
“Of course, the quality we have, but in the depth we have to catch up. And even more, because this will be a season that is survival of the fittest.
“We proved we can beat the best team. Not just once, we did it twice. But also the other games were also very close.
“Our challenge is to do it consistently, that’s what we have to work for,” Ten Hag told reporters at his pre-match news conference.
