Members of Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals (ECFMP) visited detained journalist and media professionals, Koko Robson and Victor Akpan ( Novela) at the Eket correctional center.
It could be recalled that Victor Novela was arrested by his community leaders along with 2 others for cases of cyber stalking and the case has been lingering for close to three months now.
All efforts to reach an agreement with the leaders for the young man to be released has fallen on deaf ears.
But today, Eket Federal Constituency Media Professionals led by the SSA to Akwa Ibom Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr Essien Ndueso (himself chairman of the group’s Board of Trustees) and Chairman of the forum, Comrade Itoro Etti along with other members of the forum.
The team was received by prison officials and later granted access to the detained members of the group.
Dr Essien Ndueso who led made enquires on the case and was briefed by officials and our comrades.
He promised to use his position and do everything possible to make sure on the next adjourn date which is next week Wednesday 31 July, they are granted. He gave them cash support.
Those on the visit include: Dr Essien Ndueso BoT, Itoro Etti -Chairman, Comrade Jerry Edoho – Immediate past Chairman & PA, Ifiok Itiaba – Secretary, Peace Bassey – Treasurer, Comrade Ebong Umoffia, Victor Otong (Godpikin), Comrade Ubong David -PA, Jerry Assam, Imaobong Umoeka.
Members who couldn’t make it today has been encourage to show their supports either through cash or moral support as we expect our brothers back next week Wednesday.
