Former Scotland international Steve Nicol has backed Manchester City midfielder Rodri to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Nicol said the Spain international has been terrific for a long time.
However, he believes that Rodri will eventually miss out on the prestigious award.
Speaking on ESPN, Nicol said: “Rodri [is my choice for the Ballon d’Or]. He’s been terrific for a long time.
“He probably won’t win it, who puts the goals in is probably going to win it [this year].”
Rodri helped Spain to win Euro 2024 and also won the Premier League title with Manchester City.
He is expected to battle the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
