APC in Adamawa sinking, group cries out

A group of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State has said the state chapter of the party is sinking.

The group, Tinubu/Shettima Foundation, which held its general meeting in the Adamawa State capital, Yola, on Saturday, said disunity prevails within membership of the party and its leaders have little regard for faithful members.

Members of the Foundation, who attended the meeting from the 21 local government areas of Adamawa State, decried disunity in the party, and stressed the need for intervention if the party in the state is not to disintegrate.

DAILY POST reports that disunity was blamed when the APC lost the gpvernorship seat in the state in 2019, after producing the governor between 2015.

The chairman of the Tinubu/Shettima Foundation, Alhaji Yahaya Hammanjulde, stressed in a press interview on the side of the meeting in Yola that many party members in the state would most probably leave for another party if anomalies bogging the party in the state are not addressed.

According to him, anti-party activities is the order of the day in the party, even among the leadership, while the faithful members are viewed with disdain.

“This party is about to sink. We are now in a sinking boat and if the stakeholders do not come to rescue us, the boat will sink very soon,” Hammanjulde said.
