Lazio’s Sporting Director, Angelo Fabiani, has confirmed that the club are close to signing Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares.
Tavares spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The defender is set to join Lazio on an initial loan deal this summer that will become permanent at the end of the season.
Speaking about the development, Fabiani said, as per the Evening Standard: “[Tavares] is a player who interests Lazio a lot.
“There have been talks between the two clubs for an agreement that was reached yesterday. Before completing the operation, however, many components must be agreed upon and an agreement must be found with the agents.
“I am more than confident, but for superstitious reasons I will not say that he is already a Lazio player.”
