Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has backed England to win this year’s Euros.
Ferdinand said the Three Lions are getting the job done, adding that they can win Euro 2024 playing ugly.
Gareth Southgate’s side are set to face Switzerland in the quarter-finals at Merkur Spiel Arena in Dusseldorf on Saturday evening.
England finished top of their group with five points, courtesy of two draws and one win.
They then won 2-1 against Slovakia in the Round of 16.
Speaking on BBC Match of the Day ahead of England’s quarter-final clash with Switzerland, Ferdinand said:
“They have qualified top of the group and they have won the first knock-out game and his [Southgate’s] substitutions have impacted games.”
He added, “Yes, like everyone else I want to see a better performing England, but they are getting the job done and they can win this tournament playing ugly.”
