Netherlands captain, Virgil Van Dijk has expressed his displeasure with the officiating during their 0-0 draw with France in the Euro 2024 championship.
The Liverpool man criticized the Video Assistant Referee, VAR, for denying his side what would have been the winning goal.
VAR denied the Netherlands a goal in their 0-0 draw with France at the Euro 2024 on Friday.
Les Bleus were disappointing in attack during the game as they failed to properly test Dutch goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen.
The Netherlands thought they had won the game after Xavi Simons found the back of the net in the 69th minute, only to be denied by the VAR.
Van Dijk was unimpressed with the decision and made his thoughts known after the game.
He told the press that after watching the replays, he saw no reason the goal should have been disallowed.
“From what I have seen, the goal should have been allowed,” he said.
