Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has reacted to his club teammate, Arda Guler’s wondergoal for Turkey in Euro 2024 clash against Georgia.
With the goal, the youngster broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-standing record to become the youngest player to score on their Euros debut.
Turkey and Georgia clashed in the first game in Group F in the 2024 UEFA Euro 2024 championship on Tuesday.
Mert Muldur put the Turkish side in front in the 25th minute, taking advantage of the ball that dropped kindly for him to find the top right corner with a ferocious effort.
Georges Mikautadze then leveled the scoreline for Georgia in the 32nd minute after impressive link-up play.
After the break, Real Madrid forward, Arda Guler found the back of the net with the 19-year-old taking his only shot of the game from distance.
The goal, which stands a chance to contend for the best in the tournament so far, thrilled Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois, who did not make the Belgium squad for the tournament posted on X, “Ardaaa abi,” adding emojis and tagging the teenager in his post.
