The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect for using a hammer to inflict serious head injury on a 65-year-old man at Pako Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja.
The 29-year-old suspect identified as Sodiq Ishola, was arrested at 8:30 pm on Monday.
He was arrested after he was restrained from inflicting further injuries on the victim.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the suspect and his accomplice trailed the victim and his wife from Lagos Island on bike to Iyana Ipaja.
He had inflicted severe head injuries on his victim before RRS operatives on patrol arrested him.
The Police in a statement on its X page said the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment while the suspect has been transferred to RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.
