Hoodlums attack, abduct 18yr old suspected of dating gang leader’s girlfriend

An 18-year-old boy, Kingsley Eyo Andem, has been attacked and abducted by a gangster on suspicion that he dated the girlfriend of their leader, identified as ‘Olismam’.

He was reportedly abducted from his home and taken to the creeks in the Nyangassan axis, near Calabar over the weekend.

State Police PRO, Irene Ugbo confirmed this in a statement, saying the Anti-Cultism and Kidnapping Squad (ACKS) responded to a distress call about the attack and abduction.

She said the police team swiftly mobilized to the crime scene in the morning hours.

“Upon sighting the police, the hoodlums fled into the creek, abandoning their victim, Kingsley Eyo Andem, an 18-year-old male, who was found with multiple injuries inflicted by his abductors.

“His abduction was based on allegations of dating the girlfriend of the gang’s leader.

“The Command has intensified efforts to apprehend the gang members and ensure they face justice in accordance with the extant laws of the land,” she said.
