Arsenal have made an approach to sign Amadou Onana from Everton, according to Liverpool Echo.
Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta, is looking to add a new central midfielder to his squad this summer.
This follows the exit of Mohamed Elneny, while Thomas Partey continues to be linked with a move away.
Onana is also attracting interest from other Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, it is believed Arsenal are the first team to make a move this month, as they have made an enquiry to Everton about Onana’s availability.
The report claims that Everton, who are under pressure to meet the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules after being punished for two separate breaches this season, would be open to a deal for £50million.
