The Imo State Police Command arrested robbery suspect Ogochukwu Favour and recovered a locally made pistol from him.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Shell Camp Divisional Headquarters who were on routine patrol along Bank Road in Owerri.
A statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, disclosed that the operation that led to the arrest of the suspect was carried out by police officers who sighted some hoodlums robbing a young lady.
“The operatives immediately swung into action and arrested the suspect while others took to their heels. On searching the suspect, one locally made pistol was recovered from his possession. Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects and the manufacturer of the locally-made gun,” ASP Okoye said.
The police spokesperson further stated that the suspect is undergoing a thorough investigation, which will be followed by court action.
