Transfer: Stanley Nwabali hints at future moves, mentions Man Utd, Real Madrid

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has sparked discussions about his future by mentioning European giants Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Nwabali said this while updating fans on his status with South African DStv Premiership side Chippa United.

He clarified that no concrete offers are on the table yet, despite rumours linking him to potential moves to clubs in Europe, Asia, and South Africa this summer transfer window.

Nwabali’s reputation soared following his stellar performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, where he set a new record for the longest time without conceding a goal by a Nigerian goalkeeper in AFCON history.

The 27-year-old expressed his desire to explore new opportunities in his career but emphasized that he would not force an exit from Chippa United.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday ahead of Nige’s 2026: World Cup qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Nwabali said: “I really wish to leave, but at this point there’s no club, I don’t really need to force it because if I can put up any performance with Chippa United in my national team, it doesn’t change anything if I’m in Manchester United or if I’m in Real Madrid.
