Caykur Rizespor star, Ibrahim Olawoyin has reacted to his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles.
Olawoyin was handed a late invitation after Bayer Leverkusen winger, Nathan Tella pulled out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to personal reasons.
The former Rangers player said even though he was looking forward to playing for the Super Eagles, he didn’t expect the invitation at this stage.
“It is amazing and I feel great about it, it’s a great privilege for me which I will cherish for life,” he told the Super Eagles media.
“I didn’t see it coming and it came as a surprise for me but it finally came and I have been looking forward to it.
“Super Eagles is different because it’s all-round quality players, they came from everywhere and they will make you better.”
Olawoyin scored eight goals and provided three assists for Rizespor during the 2023/24 season.
