Maguire accepts apology from Ghana MP, Isaac Adongo who mocked him in parliament

Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire has accepted an apology from the Ghana MP, Isaac Adongo who mocked him in parliament last year.

Recall that Adongo had aimed a bizarre swipe at Maguire during a speech discrediting his political rival’s economic policies during a parliamentary session last year.

He compared the England international to Ghana’s vice-president Mahamudu Bawumia who he accused of scoring political ‘own goals.’

His comments came while Maguire was enduring a difficult spell at Man United, having lost his place in the team under Erik ten Hag.

But speaking on Tuesday, Adongo said sorry to Maguire for those comments, describing the centre-back as a ‘transformational footballer’.

However, Maguire has now accepted his apology.

Responding to a clip of Adongo’s latest comments, the former Leicester City star wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: “MP Issac Adongo apology accepted . See you at Old Trafford soon.”
