APGA tasks Imo govt to uplift children from poverty, malnutrition

The Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, John Iwuala, has tasked governments with the provision of better welfare packages for the children towards addressing their challenges in society.

Iwuala who was speaking in a press release forwarded to DAILY POST on Monday, to mark the Children’s Day celebration, noted that millions of children still live in abject poverty, suffer from malnutrition, lack access to education and face various forms of abuse and exploitation.

He called on the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma to work and put measures in place to ensure that Imo children have the best environment possible to enhance and support their growth and development.

“Thanks to God, our students are doing well academically even though most of them are learning within underutilized and unconducive environments. The government of the day needs to look into our various schools to overhaul the entire school environment and give our children a conducive learning environment.

“Therefore, as we celebrate Children’s Day, let us also reflect on how we can make the world a better place for children. We must work towards ensuring that every child has access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and education.

“We must advocate for the rights of children and work towards creating a safer, healthier, and more equitable world for them. This is what APGA stands for in Imo state and our package for Imo children, “Iwuala added.
