EPL: Two changes to be made to VAR

The Premier League’s vote on the future of Video Assistant Referee, VAR, is set to trigger two changes to match officiating.

According to Daily Mail, Wolves’ attempt to scrap VAR after five seasons could fail.

However, the pressure could be used to oversee changes in its operation.

Firstly, in-stadium communication of VAR decisions will be introduced.

Secondly, a number of clubs believe the choices of referees could be broadened to allow Europe’s elite officials to referee matches.

Clubs are expected to vote on the future of VAR at the Premier League’s AGM on June 6 in Harrogate.

Any rule change requires a majority 14 of 20 members to agree for it to pass.
