POS operator shot dead in Ogun

Motorcycle-riding gunmen have reportedly killed one Mutiu Salako, an operator of Point of Sale, POS, at Oke Lantoro in Abeokuta Ogun State.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at 6 pm on Sunday.

A viral WhatsApp message alerting members of the public to the incident attributed the attack to a cult-related killing.

But the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Monday as a case of attempted robbery.

Odutola said that the police, during the raid of the area where the crime was committed, had equally arrested three suspects.

She said: “According to the report with me, it was the police operatives from Kemta Division that attended to the attack. Two gunmen on a motorcycle shot Mutiu Salako, a PoS operator who later died in the hospital. It was not a case of cult killing, as is being speculated, but attempted murder and three suspects have been arrested after the police raid of the area.”
