Governor Alia mourns former Benue Military Administrator, Obademis

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed sadness over the demise of former Military Administrator of Benue State, Group Captain Joshua Obademi.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Saturday, Alia conveyed his condolences, stating that Obademi, from Ondo State, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 73.

Obademi served as the Administrator of Benue during the military regime of Late Gen. Sani Abacha, from December 1993 to August 1996.

Alia pointed out Obademi’s significant contributions to the development of Benue, particularly through the promotion of functional literacy for women in the state.

He acknowledged that this literacy program had a positive impact on health and economic development in the state.

Alia stated that the history of Benue State would be incomplete without recognizing the contributions of the late military administrator.

He offered prayers for Obademi’s immediate family, friends,m and the people of Benue and Ondo states, asking for strength to bear the loss.

Alia also prayed for the eternal repose of Obademi’s soul.
