Europa League: Lookman delighted to help Atalanta earn final berth

Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, can’t hide his excitement after helping the club secure a place in the final of the UEFA Europa League.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side defeated Olympic Marseille 3-0 in the second leg of their semi-final tie at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo on Thursday night.

La Dea won the two-legged contest 4-1 on aggregate.

Lookman scored a goal and also grabbed an assist in the encounter.

It is the first time Atalanta have made it to the final of an European competition.

“Yes, we made history. An amazing performance from the team. We’re in the final and we’re going to Dublin so I’m very, very happy,” Lookman told UEFA’s official website.

“I’m very happy with the goal obviously, and helping the team any way I can.”

The Serie A club will face Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Dublin on Wednesday, May 22.
