Comrade Victor Ndukwe has been reelected as Chairman of the Abia State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Ndukwe works with the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State (BCA) and was inaugurated alongside Chidi Asonye as Vice Chairman; Ikechukwu Onuegbu (Secretary); Comrade Chibuzo Madukairo (Financial Secretary).
Speaking at the inaugural event held in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, the National Vice President of NUJ, South East Zone C, Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi, who represented the national secretariat of the union, charged the new council leaders to ensure that the interests of their members as priority.
While emphasising the need for peace, the national vice chairman called on all members of the union in Abia State to join hands with the newly-inaugurated executive committee led by Comrade Victor Ndukwe for the progress of the council.
Responding on behalf of the newly-inaugurated executive committee members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ndukwe reassured that they will serve the council diligently, even as he promised to carry along every member in all activities of the union in Abia State.
