The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, says it’s not a cyber crime to say Nigeria police are corrupt.
Amadi said it’s a statement that can be false or true and can be challenged.
In a post on his X handle on Sunday, Amadi stated that quick resort to arrest for disagreeable speech could be likened to authoritarian response, indicating a lack of competence to solve problems.
He said: “To call @PolicNG corrupt or to say that IGPs have been corrupt is not a cyber crime. It is a statement that can be false or true and can be challenged.
“This quick resort to arrest for disagreeable speech seems like authoritarian response for lack of competence to solve problems.”
