Fuel scarcity bites in Ondo, as product sells for over N800, N1000 per litre

With the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol ravaging various parts of the country, the situation has continued to take a toll on the residents of Ondo State.

The situation was more pronounced in Akure, the state capital, with most of the filling stations under lock and key while those who were dispensing the product sold it for more than the official pump price of N580.

At a few of the filling stations visited, particularly those belonging to independent marketers, long queues were visible as consumers jostled to buy the product between N680, N720 and N1000.

At Masters Energy along Oba-Ile/Airport Road, the product was sold at N720, while at another filling station opposite the Ministry of Works sold at N690.

For some filling stations situated around shasha market in Akure North Local, the attendants were seen dispensing the products at N1000 with long queues.

Meanwhile, the major marketers had their gates shut as they claimed that they were unable to get the product.

“I was thinking that this would be cheaper, but I was told that it is N660. The one I got before coming here was selling for N710, but I can’t buy it.
